In the hazardous area, it is a common safety practice and thumb of rules NOT to open when any electrical equipment are energized. Therefore, all electrical equipments that need to be service and maintain must be de-energized before opening. ( all electrical circuit supplying to the required equipment should be cut-off as a precautious to prevent accidental spark that might lead to an explosion).
